Total Assault On The Culture - November 2022

“. . . there are periods of history when the visions of madmen and dope fiends are a better guide to reality than the common-sense interpretation of data available to the so-called normal mind. This is one such period, if you haven’t noticed already.” — Robert Anton Wilson

“There are three classes of people: those who see. Those who see when they are shown. Those who do not see.” — Leonardo da Vinci

“I’ll tell you one thing: Don’t ever give anybody your best advice, because they’re not going to follow it.” — Jack Nicholson

Since the start of August, I have driven a Tour all over Europe, UK and Ireland. I’m back now, and I’ve been busy getting things moving at the Rehearsal Space and Recording Studio. The first task was to get the Landlord to fix the gutters. The old gutter didn’t slope in the right direction so water never got to the downpipe.

The Scaffold went up and the work began

To his credit, the Landlord agreed to a new gutter, and a second downpipe. He replaced some old broken panes of glass too.

New gutter and the view from here

The rehearsal room is in good shape. Cain are making good use of the space. There’s room for four more people to share, if you know anyone who might be interested, tell them to get in touch. You are welcome to share our backline and we have a good vocal PA too. We are based outside the Birmingham Clean air zone.

I’ve bought a Gallien-Krueger NEO 212-II 600w 2x12" Lightweight Bass Cabinet and Marshall DSL100HR 100w Guitar Amp Head. I found a couple of bargains on eBay. Cain are now sounding better than ever. I’ve also taken Seano’s Mesa Boogie bass cab for a replacement speaker cone. Listen to the Cain album here:

You can watch the Cain Birmingham show at the start of October here:

If anyone would like a Cain download code, leave a comment below and I’ll send you one. A big thank you if you have already bought a Vinyl copy from the shop. Everything helps.

Police Bastard are back in rehearsals, and there’s all sorts of work to finish in the recording studio. Current edit work includes the recent recordings of Prometheus Rising by Robert Anton Wilson read by Oliver Senton. The book tries to make sense of Timothy Leary’s eight neurological circuits, G.I. Gurdjieff’s self-observations exercises, Alfred Korzybski’s general semantics, Aleister Crowley’s magical theorems, and the several disciplines of Yoga, this is a book about how the human mind works. It’s also the unoffical Tour Manager’s handbook. Trust me, it will be worth a listen when it’s finished.
